About Me
I am originally from Chicago, Illinois. I attended Moser Jr. Business College on Michigan Avenue and worked as Executive Assistant for a meat casing company, for Fruit of the Loom in the Merchandise Mart, as a Kelly Girl throughout the Loop, and got my start in the legal field as Legal Secretary to a bankruptcy attorney, and then as Legal Secretary to a senior partner in the 100-year old firm of Tenney & Bentley on LaSalle Avenue.
My husband and I moved to Southern California where I worked for attorney Robert W. "Big Bob" Fraser, a past President of the Orange County Bar Association. My family later moved to the Bay Area where we lived in Benicia for several years. While working part-time for a private investigator, I attended Saint Mary's University, receiving my ABA Approved Paralegal Certificate and began to work as a Paralegal for attorneys that I still work for to this day. Upon moving back to Orange County, I set up my Freelance Paralegal practice, and having been practicing ever since.
I have worked on many different types of cases over the years, hired by attorneys throughout this beautiful State. On several occasions I have worked on a case for many years, taking my knowledge of the history, parties, and documents to the changing attorneys.
While some cases are fascinating, most are routine and involve the day-to-day tasks needed to be done in order to gather the facts and collect the evidence to prove up or defend a lawsuit. This is my bread and butter - a call to draft up a complaint or demurrer, prepare or respond to discovery and motions, set aside/vacate, TRO's, trial motions and preparation, etc.
My attorney client base consists of several attorneys who hire me on a regularly basis to work up cases, as well as attorneys who only need my assistance two or three times a year. Most are solo attorneys, with little or no staff. And some only need my services once every couple of years, and when they call, I am still here and ready to assist.
My rates are extremely reasonable for the quality of work received, and I have a terrific reference list upon request.
